Years ago I was going through a rough time and a close friend asked me, “What Scripture verse are you clinging to?” Think about that question for a moment.
The dictionary in my NLT Bible defines the word cling as “to adhere as if glued firmly; to hold or hold on tightly or tenaciously.” In other words, what verse was I holding onto for dear life? What verse was going to get me through that situation?
Although I had never thought of it that way before, I knew immediately that I was clinging to Matthew 11:28.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.’”
I was so tired and worn out at the time, my strength could only be coming from Him.
I’ve since asked others close to me “What Scripture verse are you clinging to?” when I could see they were struggling. Now I’m asking you. Do you have a Scripture verse that you cling to? Is it a verse that you rely on in times of trouble? Or maybe it’s a verse that gives you strength and hope. Would you share it with us?

If you are new to commenting, here are a few tips: When you leave your comment, you can choose:
Name/URL - give as much, or as little, of your name as you like. (Or even just your initials) How you type your name is how it will appear in your comment. Ignore URL unless you have a Website and want it linked to your name.
Anonymous - If you choose Anonymous, that’s fine too. Although it will be easier to announce a winner with a name or initials. J
